DESCRIPTION:The Family Voices Project is a collaborative initiative aimed at gathering the invaluable insights\, experiences\, and desires of families with children and youth who have disabilities.\n\n\nThe Family Support Institute of BC (FSI) is on a community engagement journey to gather stories on what has and has not been working in the current system for Children and Youth with Support Needs (CYSN). Welcome to the Family Voices Project! \nWe want to hear from BC families and youth self-advocates who currently have\, or are in need of\, CYSN services and supports. Connect with us in-person when we visit your city/community\, or connect with us virtually between July and September 2024. \nThe Children and Youth with Support Needs (CYSN) program through the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) offers various services\, including the At Home Program\, Autism Funding\, respite care\, key workers\, and some specialized therapies\, family support\, and medical benefits. CYSN services are for children and youth from birth to 19 years of age who are BC residents. Children and youth eligible for these programs include those with developmental delays\, autism\, and some complex health needs. \nRegister to connect with us now! \n\n\n\n\n  \nJoin a community engagement session\n\n\n\n\nAdditional dates and locations will continually be added as they are confirmed.

DESCRIPTION:JOIN ‘POWER TO BE’ FOR A FREE PROGRAM TO TRY NEW ACTIVITIES!\nUpcoming Victoria Dates:\nTIME: 10am – 3pm \nSUNDAY\, AUGUST 11th \nSUNDAY\, SEPTEMBER 22nd \nSATURDAY\, NOVEMBER 2nd \n\n  \nWHAT: Come experience the outdoors with Power To Be! We offer a variety of activities including hiking with and without TrailRiders (one-wheeled\, all-terrain wheelchairs)\, paddlesports\, nature adventures\, and more. We also periodically have community partners on site who offer additional activities! \n  \nWHO: Anyone who wants to access nature in a safe\, fun\, and inclusive way. This open event invites all current Power To Be participants and their families\, as well as anyone interested in learning more about Power To Be \n  \nWHERE: Our beautiful Prospect Lake site located at 4633 Prospect Lake Rd. \n  \nDETAILS: No RSVPs are required to attend. We ask that anyone under the age of 19 be accompanied by adult support. Activities are available for sign up upon your arrival and run on a rotating basis. We will run the activities rain or shine\, so dress appropriately for the weather. Please bring snacks and water! \n  \nPLEASE NOTE: \nThis free event is open to families. We ask that all children and youth be accompanied by an adult support as our Power To Be staff will be busy ensuring everyone is enjoying the different activities. If your youth will be attending with an adult who is not their guardian\, the guardian will need to click the button below to print and sign our Informed Consent ahead of time. \nSign your Informed Consent
