This program supports teens ages 13 to 18 who are experiencing symptoms of stress and worry to learn and practice evidence-based strategies to cope with stress. Y Mind Teen is led by trained mental health professionals and educators and gives teens the chance to connect with others who are experiencing similar thoughts and feelings. \nRegistration Information: \nThe Y Mind Groups are being offered in person at the Westhills Y (Langford) and Downtown locations. If you are not able to attend these for any reason\, both virtual and in person groups are available to those in other parts of BC and Vancouver Island. DESCRIPTION:December 3 is the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. To celebrate this day\, People First of Canada chapters are showing the documentary These Four Walls in their communities. \nThese Four Walls was released by PFC in 2025. The film takes the viewer through the lives of people with intellectual disabilities who were forced to live in the Manitoba Developmental Centre\, or MDC\, a large institution for people with disabilities in the prairie province. The film also follows a class action lawsuit lead by David Weremy against the Government of Manitoba. \n“The goal of the film was to show the world how people were treated in institutions and to advocate for a future where institutions would be permanently closed\,” said Donna Brown\, President of PFC. \nYou can join People First members watching the film in your community\, or you can request the film by emailing info@peoplefirstofcanada.ca \nVisit the People First of Canada Facebook page for more details or links to showings.

DESCRIPTION:On December 3\, 2025\, DWP is excited to bring a wide variety of presentations from people with lived experience\, service providers\, academic and community researchers to our free\, virtual symposium. \nThere are two streams available\, each with a different set of speakers\, presentations and panellists. You are welcome to sit in on speakers from both streams that interest you. Replay videos of both streams will be on the DWP YouTube channel after the event. \nASL\, English & French closed captioning\, as well as Simultaneous French translation\, will be provided. LSQ will be available for Stream A only for the first two hours:  Opening Remarks and the discussion on Barriers to Housing for People in Quebec.
