SUMMARY:MAR Kids Global: Be A Kid - Paddle Boarding!
DESCRIPTION:Moms Against Racism Presents… Be a Kid!\nEach month get together with Black\, Indigenous and Kids of Colour to have fun participating in a different activity and building community.\nCalling all BIPOC Kids of Greater Victoria! This month join us for Paddle Boarding with Paddle N Go on the Gorge Waterway!\nEvent details: \n\nSunday\, June 30th at 12:00pm\nNo experience necessary! Lessons provided.\nWe will meet by the change rooms at Craigflower- Kosapsom Park\nChildren must be supervised by their adults at all times.\nChildren eighteen and younger must be accompanied on a board by an adult.\nChange rooms and washrooms on site.\nLimited free parking available on-site and on road.\nPlayground and picnic tables on site.\nLessons\, Boards\, Paddles\, Safety gear – all are provided for each participant.\n\nPricing: \n\n1 Parent + 1 child (Free)\nExtra child ( Pay what you can )\nExtra Adult ( Pay what you can)\n\n*If you can afford to\, please consider contributing $5-$10 per child. This helps us host more events in a year. If you can’t right now\, that is okay! We got you. Please email us at info@momsagainstracism.ca if you have questions or concerns. \nYou MUST register all participants. People who have not registered may be refused access to the event. \nIndemnity Information: \nAccidents arising from recreation activities occasionally happen. You also agree to waive all rights of subrogation or recourse against Paddle N’ Go and it’s affiliates as a result of participating in this event. \nPlain language: Participate at your own risk. \nAbout the Be A Kid Program\nEvery child deserves to play freely\, to laugh loudly\, and to explore the wonders of the world in a joyfully inquisitive way. Every child deserves the opportunity to try something new\, to connect with nature\, and to do so without the judgmental and scrutinizing gaze of the people around them. \nUnfortunately\, for Black\, Indigenous and Children of Colour\, they often don’t get these opportunities. \nThese children often face barriers when it comes to… being a kid. Barriers to participating in activities like finances\, travel\, time\, lack of knowledge\, stigma\, fear for safety\, and even just feeling like they’re going to stick out or be the only racialized kid there. \nBe a Kid events are \n\nFun and welcoming\nOpen to children who identity as BIPOC and their immediate families/caregivers (white family members/caregivers are welcome)\nIntended to build community. Come ready to meet and talk with new people.
