DESCRIPTION:Esquimalt’s Celebration of Lights is a magical event for the whole family. Lights\, Music\, Food\, Santa and it is FREE to the whole community. It is a community event where people can come together to celebrate the holiday season with lights and festivities. We also feature a Music Bingo in the spring of each year to help support our upcoming Esquimalt Celebration of Lights. \nHope to see you all there for the start of the parade at 5 pm on December 1st\, 2024 for the parade and at the Arena right after for a visit with Santa\, a hot dog from the Lions and singing with your neighbours.

DESCRIPTION:The 42nd Peninsula Co-op Santa Claus Parade presented by Chek will kick off at 5:00pm on Saturday\, November 30\, 2024 at Government and Belleville. \nWe will once again be collecting food and cash for the Mustard Seed Street Church and Food Bank. They will be giving out hot chocolate at Douglas and Humboldt starting at 4:30pm. \nThe Victoria Disability Resource Center will have live audio description this year at their location at Government and Belleville. DESCRIPTION:In honor of Recovery Month (September)\, Umbrella Society\, @New Roads Therapeutic Recovery Community (Our Place Society)\, and our funders (Victoria Community Action Team\, Island Health\, BC Government) will partner to deliver a new\, re-energized\, and refreshed celebration of recovery for individuals\, families\, friends\, and communities affected by substance use disorders and other addictions.\n\nRDV’24 is a free\, family friendly\, and inclusive\, alcohol/substance free\, single day annual event for anyone to attend who has an interest in celebrating recovery\, honoring those who have recovered\, and giving hope to those seeking sustainable recovery from active addiction.\n\nEvent elements will include (but may not be limited to) music\, comedy\, and other entertainment on the main stage; food trucks\, artisans marketspace\, a resource providers marketspace\, 4-on-4 street hockey tournament\, a kids stage and “Family Fun Land” inflatable fun park for kids\, parents\, and adults. DESCRIPTION:The 13th annual One Day event will take place on Saturday\, September 14th\, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm\, at Topaz Park in Victoria.\n\n\n\nOne Day attracts hundreds of community members to celebrate the diversity in our community through a free\, family-oriented celebration of everyone – for everyone – in our community. Our planning committee works hard to encourage the community at large to attend in the hope that through celebrating our similarities\, we can break down the barriers that often result in social isolation for some.\n\n\n\nOne Day provides free musical entertainment\, organized games\, and inclusive activities that are accessible to everyone\, children’s activities\, an Artists and Crafters Marketplace\, a $5.00 barbecue lunch meal\, other refreshments\, and more.\n\n\n\nOne Day is our community’s kick-off to Community Inclusion Month. Community Inclusion Month is a time when communities around the province and across Canada host events to celebrate the abilities and achievements of people living with diverse abilities.

DESCRIPTION:Come celebrate the 30th anniversary of continuous Pride parades in Victoria!\nThis year’s Pride Parade starts on Sunday\, July 7\, 2024\, at 11 AM. This large\, colourful parade—with as many as 140 entries and 70\,000+ spectators—is one of our favourite moments of the year! The Songhees Nation and other Indigenous and Two-Spirit guests of honour will open the parade at Fisgard and Douglas.\n \nAccessible Viewing Area with Live Audio Description\nThis space is for persons with disabilities (and their date\, friends\, family\, attendants) who want to enjoy the parade in an accessible setting (Maximum five people per group\, including person with disability). Tents and seating will be set up\, as well as water and snacks provided! This month join us for Paddle Boarding with Paddle N Go on the Gorge Waterway!\nEvent details: \n\nSunday\, June 30th at 12:00pm\nNo experience necessary! Lessons provided.\nWe will meet by the change rooms at Craigflower- Kosapsom Park\nChildren must be supervised by their adults at all times.\nChildren eighteen and younger must be accompanied on a board by an adult.\nChange rooms and washrooms on site.\nLimited free parking available on-site and on road.\nPlayground and picnic tables on site.\nLessons\, Boards\, Paddles\, Safety gear – all are provided for each participant.\n\nPricing: \n\n1 Parent + 1 child (Free)\nExtra child ( Pay what you can )\nExtra Adult ( Pay what you can)\n\n*If you can afford to\, please consider contributing $5-$10 per child. This helps us host more events in a year.
