Prior to joining CMHA\, Kate worked in refugee resettlement supporting the settlement and inclusion of refugees and newcomers in communities across Canada.   During this time\, Kate founded the We Speak Translate project a first of its kind partnership with Google Translate.  The We Speak Translate project trained individuals\, representing diverse sectors\, in how to use the Google Translate app to create more welcoming and inclusive communities for newcomers to Canada.  Kate has a Masters in Community Development from the University of Victoria.
